Opened in 1951, we are a Catholic elementary school that serves Pre-Kindergarten - 6 grade. Our goal is to educate students in a positive, Christian environment with Gospel values as our foundation for behavior. We believe academic excellence along with moral development leads to acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in our ever changing global environment.
Small Class Size With an average of 10 students per class, your child can excel at his/her own pace. Teachers can also address any learning problems quickly and individually.
Affordable Tuition is only $168.00 a month. Our Eagle's Nest After Care Program is a very reasonable $5.00 per family per afternoon. You get an excellent academic education and after-school care, for less than after-school care alone. Our on-site hot lunch program is only $2.50 a day.
Excellence In Academics All our teachers are state certified and 70% have Master's Degrees. We have a strong academic curriculum including Balanced Literacy (Scott Foresman, CELL, and EXCEL), Progress in Mathematics, 6+1 Traits of Writing, and D'Nealean Handwriting. According to the United States Department of Education statistics, 88% of students attending Catholic Schools score higher than the basic level of proficiency, compared with 73% of public school students. An example of this proficiency in St. Laurence... Our third grade students were in the 85th percentile in Reading, Math, Language Arts, and Social Studies
No Bullies All students are treated with kindness and respect by teachers, staff and peers. We pride ourselves at St. Laurence School on our family-like environment where it is easy to make friends and enjoy school
Enrichment Activities We offer P.E., Music, Outdoor Education, Latin, Art, religion, Library and a full computer lab. We also offer students the opportunity to attend curriculum-related field trips and participate in service learning projects. Among our various service projects for the 2008-09 school year, we donated over a half ton of food to Interfaith Good Samaritan and we raised over $500 for an Orphanage in Nicaragua.
