| St. Laurence School dedicated and opened at a cost of $193,000.00, exclusive of furnishings. School enrollment is 197. The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth staffed the school. The first principal of the school was Sister Mary Carlotta. The first faculty included Sister Loretto, Sister Martha Mary, Sister Lorraine, Sister Gregory, Sister Catherine Sienna, and Sister Mary Incarnata. In 1953 Sister Sarah succeeded Sister Mary Carlotta as principal of the school. |

| A new addition to the school was completed, consisting of two large classrooms and a library, at a cost of $45,000.00, exclusive of furnishings. One Sister and one lay teacher increased the faculty. |

| St. Laurence School increased its facilities to include a full junior high school. The first ninth grade consisted of 24 members. The faculty includes eight teaching sisters, a sister engaged in teaching music, and two full-time lay teachers. The enrollment of the total school for 1959 - 1960 was 425 students. |

| Saint Laurence School has profited from the assistance of a very active Home and School Association and an Athletic Association. Throughout the nine-year period since its opening, the school has enjoyed the benefits of a hot-lunch program. |

| Pre Kindergarten is open! Mrs. Linda Hubbard who ran the the Pre- Kindergarten back in 1990\'s has returned to teach the young ones. |
